Islamabad: In an unusual move, the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) on Tuesday decided to change its election symbol to “human eye”.

The decision came after a consultative meeting of the party chaired by Senate President Sadiq Sanjrani.

It was attended by parliamentary leader Khalid Magassi, minister of state Ehsan Riqi, senator Nasibullah Bazai, senior minister Noor Muhammad Damar and others.

During the meeting, the participants consulted on party affairs and the upcoming elections.

In light of the decision, a delegation will meet officials of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) later today to request allocation of a new election symbol.

Earlier the party used to contest elections on the symbol of cow.

The BAP was launched ahead of the July 2018 general election to “focus on the issues of Balochistan”.
