Karachi: Another member of the journalist fraternity, Syed Muhammad Askari, a senior journalist daily jangwas picked up from Karachi, news Reported on Sunday.
According to eyewitness accounts from Askari’s friend who was present at the time of the incident, Askari was taken into custody by police and personnel in plain clothes.
Eyewitnesses claimed that a police mobile and a white vehicle stopped Askari’s car near Qayyumabad KPT interchange on Korangi Road on Saturday night when the two were returning from a wedding.
He further said that the police and unidentified men in plain clothes took the two into custody, although Askari introduced himself to them and told them that he was a journalist.
However, Askari’s accomplice was later released. he brought the car War reported to the office and custody.

Meanwhile, Korangi’s SSP Tariq Nawaz said that information about the incident is being taken.
The family has demanded that the authorities recover Askari immediately.
Meanwhile, office bearers of Karachi Press Club, Karachi Union of Journalists and Education Reporters Association have condemned the incident and demanded immediate recovery of Askari.
Earlier too many journalists in Karachi were picked up in a similar manner.
