A statistical report released by independent think tank Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) revealed that terrorist activities in the country have increased by 79% during the first half of 2023.
The report warned that there were at least 271 terrorist attacks during the past six months, in which 389 people lost their lives and 656 were injured.
The situation in the same time frame last year was much better than the current one, as the first half of 2022 saw 151 attacks and 293 deaths and 487 injuries.
These figures show an astonishing 79% increase in terrorist attacks during the first half of this year as compared to the same period last year.
