Providing relief to inflation-stricken Pakistanis, the caretaker government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs 2.4 per liter for the next fortnight.

The new prices will come into effect from midnight on November 16 and will remain in effect till November 30.
The Finance Division said in a statement that on the recommendation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the rates of petroleum products have been reduced by Rs 9.01.
The per liter price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was cut by Rs 6.47, while the prices of kerosene and light diesel oil were reduced by Rs 6.05 and Rs 9.01, respectively.
The caretaker government reduced fuel prices a month later as prices were kept unchanged in two fortnightly reviews.
The interim government is imposing zero general sales tax (GST) on all petroleum products, while the rate of petroleum levy (PL) on petrol and diesel is Rs 60 per litre.
On October 16, the government had reduced the price of petrol by Rs 40 per liter and HSD by Rs 15 per liter.
Diesel is widely used in the transportation and agricultural sectors. The reduction in its price may reduce the impact of inflation and provide relief to farmers as the harvesting season has started.
