Happy beginnings: India’s Anju, now Fatima, marries Pakistani lover in Dir

On Tuesday, Anju, an Indian woman who crossed borders for love, married her Pakistani friend Nasrullah in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Upper Dir after converting from Hinduism to Islam.

The couple got married in the local court of a District and Sessions Judge.

Nasir Mehmood Satti, Deputy Inspector General of Malakand Division confirmed this Nikah Anju, 35, and Nasrullah, 29, say that the woman has taken the name of Fatima after converting to Islam.

He further added that the Indian woman has been sent home from the court under police protection.
