RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has decided to file a case in the United States against American diplomat Donald Lu – the man he has accused of overthrowing his government, the former premier Minister’s sister Alima Khan said.

According to Geo News, Alima shared the PTI chief’s strategy in a press conference after meeting her brother in Adiala jail.

“The PTI chairman said that if he did not get justice from the Pakistani courts, he would file a case against Donald Lu in the US courts,” the sister said. He said that PTI believes that the US Embassy in Pakistan was fully involved in the conspiracy to topple Khan’s government.

Alima said the Islamabad High Court had issued a stay order in the Sifar case and sections were added to the case that could lead to death penalty or life imprisonment.

“We should be told what crime the PTI chairman had committed that such sections were added. Rana Sanaullah filed a case against PTI chairman [we] Justice must be served in Pakistan,” said the former prime minister’s sister.

She shared that her brother was in good health and had developed a good daily routine during his imprisonment. He also said that he did not receive any complaint from the PTI chief regarding his food.

The PTI chief is currently in Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail along with his deputy Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the cipher case.

A special court was hearing the case, but the IHC issued a stay order on Khan’s appeal and now the PTI chief has been kept in custody in the case registered against him by the National Accountability Bureau.

The cipher controversy first came to light on March 27, 2022, when Imran Khan – less than a month before his ouster in April 2022 – waved a letter in front of the crowd while addressing a public rally, claiming that it It was the cipher of a foreign nation. Conspired with his political rivals to overthrow the PTI government.

He did not disclose the contents of the letter nor did he say from which country the letter came. But days later, he accused the United States of plotting against him and alleged that Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Donald Lu had sought his removal.

The reference was about former Pakistan ambassador to the US Majid Ki meeting with Lu.

The former prime minister claimed that he was reading material from the cipher, adding that “if Imran Khan is removed from power then everything will be forgiven for Pakistan”.

Then on March 31, the National Security Committee (NSC) took up the matter and decided to issue a “strong demarche” to the US for its “blatant interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan”.

Later, after his removal, then Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called a meeting of the NSC, which concluded that it had found no evidence of any foreign conspiracy in the cables.

In two audio leaks, which took the internet by storm and shocked the public after these incidents, former Prime Minister, then federal minister Asad Umar and then principal secretary Azam Khan were allegedly heard discussing the US cipher and how to use it. Can be heard doing. This is for their benefit.
