Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan’s personal physician Dr Faisal Sultan said there is no clear indication that the former prime minister was being given slow poison during his detention. news informed of.

Dr Sultan’s comments came while talking to reporters outside Adiala Jail, where he had gone to meet Khan on Thursday.

The doctor said that the PTI chairman was neither under the influence of poison nor was he given any poison and he found Khan “fit” during the meeting.

“The former prime minister is hale and hearty,” he said.

Meanwhile, recording his statement before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), the PTI chairman on Thursday denied his involvement in the violent riots of May 9 and said he was in jail at the time of the incident.

The statement was recorded in the presence of his lawyers.

Led by SSP (Operations) Rawalpindi Faisal Saleem, the JIT included SP (Potohar) Waqas Khan, DSP (New Town) Malik Allah Yar, an inspector and a sub-inspector.

The JIT remained in the jail for 45 minutes and interrogated Imran.

Those involved in the investigation said Imran directly rejected allegations of involvement in the violence and answered questions while avoiding complex and confusing questions.

It should be noted that Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi had expressed concerns about the safety of her jailed husband, saying that he “could be poisoned” in Attock jail, where he was previously held, before his arrest on August 5. Was kept in custody later.

In a letter to the Punjab Home Secretary, the former first lady said that the court had directed the authorities concerned to shift her husband to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

“My husband has been imprisoned in Attock jail without any reason. According to the law, my husband should be shifted to Adiala jail.

Khan was taken into custody in August after a court sentenced him to three years in prison in the Toshakhana case related to the sale of state gifts he received from foreign dignitaries during his 2018-22 tenure as prime minister. However, this sentence was overturned by the Islamabad High Court. However, the PTI chief was arrested in the cipher case, for which he is still imprisoned in Adiala jail.
