Karachi witnessed a refreshing change on Sunday morning as light rain brought respite from the scorching heat and humidity.

II Chundrigar Road, Sharia Faisal and Malir were among the areas which received light rains, making the weather pleasant for the residents of the port city.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the city will experience partly cloudy sky during the day and partly cloudy sky at night in the next 24 hours.

Additionally, sea breezes are expected to continue over Karachi, as predicted by the PMD.

“Light rain and drizzle is likely to occur in the city,” the weather office said. It has been drizzling since morning in different parts of the city.

Less than one millimeter of rain was recorded at Masroor base.

According to the Met office, the maximum temperature could reach 33°C to 35°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 28°C.

The humidity in the air remained at 89%, the PMD said.

“The wind speed is 20 kilometers per hour from the southwest,” the weather forecasting authority said.

Earlier this week, the PMD forecast said that rain is expected in Karachi and surrounding areas on the night of Saturday and Sunday.

Other areas of Sindh are expected to remain hot and humid.

Meanwhile, in its overall weather outlook report for the country, the Met Office forecast that mainly hot and humid weather is expected over most parts of the country.
