In a dramatic turn of events, the Islamabad Police has claimed that the Margalla Hills rape case was a hoax and was hatched by an aide of the accused in an attempt to take revenge.
Last week, a young girl looking for a job was allegedly raped at gunpoint in the forest area of Trail-III, the most popular hiking track in the federal capital, Margla Hills.
The Kohsar police had registered a First Information Report (FIR No. 568/23) under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of the victim.
The victim girl lodged a written complaint at Kohsar police station that she is a resident of Zafar Park, Muridke, District Sheikhupura. She had come to Islamabad from Sheikhupura in search of a job on the invitation of the accused, who was allegedly an accountant in the education department, who was identified as Nauman.
She had claimed that Nauman contacted her over phone with some references and offered her a job, adding that there were some suitable jobs available in his department, but if she could provide Rs 50,000 for the job, he would asked him to come personally. Islamabad to attend the interview and other tests.
The federal capital said in a statement today that the accused Nouman had a fight with his associate Anwar who had hired a group to seek revenge.
Anwar approached a girl named Saima, a resident of Rawalpindi, to falsely accuse Noman of rape.
Saima along with Sheikhpura resident Sidra Ismail conspired to rape her.
Police said that as per the plan, Sidra along with her accomplices staged a rape drama on Trail 3.
Police said they probed the matter from every angle and took the girl to the police station for investigation where she revealed the conspiracy before a magistrate.
Police told that she blackmails people by cheating and extorting money from them.
