Islamabad: A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), led by the party’s convenor Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday and expressed concern over the lack of attention to key national issues. news informed of.

Party sources said the meeting was a part of the consultation process for the formation of a caretaker dispensation in the country after the dissolution of the Assemblies next month.

Members of the delegation included Federal Minister for Information Technology Aminul Haque, Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori, Dr. Farooq Sattar and Mustafa Kamal, while Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq and Economic Affairs Minister Sardar Ayaz Sadiq were also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, the delegation complained that the MQM-P, being an important ally in the ruling coalition, was not being consulted on the crucial issue of dissolution of assemblies, and that only two key coalition members were planning matters.

A statement issued by the PM’s media wing said the two sides discussed the caretaker set-up and the recently concluded census.

The official statement said the MQM-P delegation thanked the prime minister for personally monitoring the ongoing development projects and urged him to ensure their timely completion.

The MQM-P leaders also appreciated the efforts of the Prime Minister and his economic team to reach a stand-by-agreement with the IMF.

Sources said the MQM-P delegation demanded that the census results be notified, saying that the next general election should be held on the basis of the new census and not on the basis of the results of the 2017 census.

The leaders also proposed the name of former Karachi commissioner Shoaib Siddiqui as caretaker chief minister of Sindh. A decision in this regard will be taken through consultations between the Leader of the House and the Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Legislative Assembly.
