North Korea condemns US decision to supply cluster bombs to Ukraine

Expressing support for Russia’s war effort, North Korea on Tuesday criticized the United States (US) decision to supply cluster weapons to Ukraine.

Pyongyang’s Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui said in a statement, “The US has made a very dangerous choice by deciding to provide such lethal weapons to Ukraine.”

The move “brings to light once again its true colors of aggression and genocide as destroyers of peace as its national policy and way of existence”, the official said. Korean Central News Agency quoting Hui said.

Hui demanded Washington halt its plans.

It was Pyongyang’s latest message of support to Moscow since the start of fighting in Ukraine, which it has described as a US “proxy war” to destroy Russia.

As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Russia has long taken a stance against mounting pressure on North Korea, which is under extensive UN and Western sanctions over its nuclear weapons and missile programmes.
