Two of the year’s most anticipated films have been running double marathons in theaters around the world since the release of Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” and the historical epic “Oppenheimer.”
Both the films released in the theaters on 21st July and the audience thronged the theaters to watch their favorite film. However, many people struggle with deciding which movie to watch first.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak found himself in a similar situation when he took his family – his wife and two daughters – to see the film. However, it seems that he chose to watch Barbie first because of “the girls”.
The UK leader shared a glimpse of the time he spent with his followers on Twitter and posted a picture which was possibly clicked in a theatre.
Had it not been for the brochure in Sunak’s wife Akshata Murthy’s hand, the clothes would have made it clear which movie they were going to watch.
“The family vote always went one way… Barbie first,” Sunak wrote on Twitter with the hashtag #Barbenheimer.
The media has billed “Barbenheimer” as a clash between the frothy comedy “Barbie” and the nuclear weapons biopic “Oppenheimer”, starring Cillian Murphy.
The hashtag is trending on social media even before the release of the film this Friday.
Barbie is entirely about the iconic doll, while Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan, is a biographical thriller based on J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who is known as the “father of the atomic bomb.”
