
In a strange incident, a resident in the United Kingdom called the police after hearing a “woman screeching”, but police learned it was a noisy parrot.
According to Hindustan TimesEssex Police dispatched three vehicles to Canvey Island after the man called after hearing screams from the neighbourhood.
This voice was coming from the house of Steve Woods, a bird keeper for almost 21 years. Currently, he has 22 birds including budgies, blue and golden macaws, one hen macaw, two Amazon parrots, eight Indian ringnecks and a green-winged macaw.
talking to BBC, Woods said that his birds usually sound at dawn and dusk, calling it “the time of the woods”. However, one of the parrots named Freddie had a hormonal outburst that day.
“I thought, ‘Oh my God what have I done?’ I opened the door to two laughing police officers, and they said, ‘Don’t worry mate, I think we’ve got it. I said, ‘What have I done?’, and they said, ‘We have There is a report that there is a woman in your home screaming for help, and we have come to check that everything is okay.” Wood said.
He said, “The police did the right thing and the caller did the right thing – no bad feelings from my side.”
Woods even allowed police officers to search his home to assure that nothing was amiss. He said that he has no problem with the police or the neighbor who called.
