Khyber: A policeman was killed and eight others, including policemen, were injured in a blast suspected to be a suicide attack in Bara Bazar area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Khyber district, police said on Thursday.
The latest attack on law enforcers came as police were frisking people entering the tehsil compound – which houses the Bara police station, government offices and a cell of the counter-terrorism department.
Police said the injured were being admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital Dogra Khyber Agency. The nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained.
Initially, the police said that smoke was seen rising from the blast site. He told that there was also news of heavy firing after the blast.
KP Police came under yet another attack last night when two policemen were killed and two others were injured in a firing incident in Peshawar’s Regi area.
Unidentified armed men opened fire on police at the entry point near Reggie Model Town police station and fled, police said. The injured policemen were shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The martyred soldiers were identified as head constable Wajid and driver Farman.
