- Arabs view criminal support of Israel as “aid and abetment”.
- More than 5,700 Palestinians were killed in Israeli air strikes.
AMMAN: Jordan’s Queen Rania on Tuesday blamed Western leaders for their “double standards” for worsening the humanitarian crisis caused by the deadly Israeli bombardment and blockade of Gaza.
More than 5,700 Palestinians have been martyred in air strikes in the besieged Gaza Strip, including more than 2,300 children, 1,200 women and 295 elderly people.
Hospitals have warned of collapse in the face of reduced supplies due to the Israeli blockade since October 7 in response to Hamas attacks, which have left more than 16,200 people injured, according to Gaza officials.
in an interview with cnn Christiane Amanpour Queen Rania, who is also of Palestinian descent, said, “To the people of the entire Middle East, including Jordan, we are shocked and dismayed by the world’s response to this catastrophe that is unfolding.”
He regretted the Western world’s “gross double standards” and said that Arabs view criminal support for Israel as “aiding and abetting” mass killings of civilians in Gaza.
“When October 7th happened, the world immediately and clearly stood with Israel and its right to defend itself and condemned the attack that occurred… But what we are seeing in the last few weeks, we are seeing silence in the world. Have been.” Queen Rania said.
Queen Rania said, “This is the first time in modern history that so much human suffering is occurring and the world is not even calling for a ceasefire.” “So this silence is deafening – and for many in our region, it makes the Western world complicit.”
“Are we being told that it is wrong to kill a family, an entire family, at gunpoint, but it is okay to kill them by shooting them? I mean, there’s a clear double standard here,” she said.
“This is shocking for the Arab world.”
