RAWALPINDI: Security forces foiled a failed terrorist attack on Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Mianwali Training Air Base early Saturday and killed three terrorists, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to the media wing of the Army, ”On 04 November 2023, in the early hours of the day, a foiled terrorist attack took place on Mianwali Training Air Base of Pakistan Air Force, due to prompt and effective response of troops, Alhamdolia, personnel and “It has been foiled while ensuring the safety of assets.”

The statement said three terrorists were killed while entering the base, while the remaining three were surrounded/isolated due to timely and effective response by the troops, who displayed extraordinary courage and timely response. .

“However, three aircraft already on the ground and one fuel bowser also suffered some damage during the attack,” the statement said.

It further said that a massive joint clearance and search operation is in the final stages to completely clear the area.

ISPR said, “Pakistan Armed Forces are committed to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country at all costs.”

A day earlier, six people were killed and 20 were injured in a blast targeting a police van in Dera Ismail Khan.

Caretaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Firdous Jamal Shah shared that two policemen were also among the 22 people and said he was saddened by the news.

“The elements involved in the blast and terrorism will be brought to justice,” the minister assured.
