Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has ordered officials to arrest a man who was caught on camera sexually assaulting a woman in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi. news informed of.
The incident came to light when the CCTV footage of the heinous act went viral on social media.
The footage shows a man arriving in a neighborhood on a motorcycle and attempting to sexually assault a veiled woman who passes him in broad daylight.
However, the woman refused to be a victim and retaliated, forcing the perpetrator to flee the scene due to his target’s resistance.
Significantly, the motorcycle he was riding did not have a number plate and the suspect was also wearing a mask to hide his identity.
Till the writing of the news on Wednesday night, no official complaint had been lodged regarding the incident. However, the police have taken the matter seriously and are probing the incident on the basis of available CCTV footage.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the Chief Minister has taken cognizance of the matter and ordered the police to immediately arrest the culprits involved in the horrific incident.
Memon was of the view that a mentally unsound person could resort to such brazen criminal attempt as a normal human being could never commit such an act. He said that the government is committed to prevent recurrence of such tragic incidents in the society.
