Two Pakistanis shine with victories at Global Women’s Awards

Two Pakistanis won awards at the prestigious United Kingdom-based Global Women Awards ceremony held in London on Sunday night.

Pakistani businesswoman Huma Fakhar and philanthropist Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib won the awards after being nominated in their respective categories.

fakhar Showcasing her inspiring achievements, she won the Global Woman Inspiration Award, while Dr. Saqib was honored with the Global Man of the Decade award, which recognized her outstanding contribution.

Fakhar thanked the organizers of the award for the recognition, saying, “Pakistan is a story of women’s courage, a rising story.”

The successful feat achieved by both the Pakistanis is a significant achievement for the nation, as both the nominees emerged as winners because of their work and its impact on the global stage.

Last month, Fakhar – a Pakistani businesswoman – was nominated for the Global Woman Inspiration Award in the UK for her work in Pakistan’s business and social sector.

Organized by the Global Women’s Club, the nominees for the award were announced on 17 June, while the award was scheduled to take place on 17 July in London.

Meanwhile, Dr. Saqib, who was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Pakistani government, is a renowned philanthropist known for his social initiatives and welfare work in the country. He is the founder and chairman of Akhuwat, the world’s largest Islamic microfinance program and fee-free college university open to talents from all over Pakistan.

Dr. Saqib said, “I am very honored and humbled to receive this global recognition. Thank you very much to all of you. receiving awards that are changing the world.” said after being felicitated.

He dedicated his victory to the people of Pakistan and to “all the volunteers and great human beings who are volunteers and whose goal is to build a better world. A world free of poverty, of exploitation.”

Globally, a total of 12 women have been nominated and will be honored by Deepak Chopra and Madame Mir Elle. The businesswoman said, “This nomination is for being an inspiration for my work as a business person in Pakistan and support in the social sector.”

The award category pays tribute to a woman who has inspired and encouraged others through her incredible journey, overcoming obstacles and making a positive impact in her community.

Thanking his loved ones for their support, Fakhar said, “Thank you to my family and friends for their continued support.”

Fakhar is the co-author of Pakistan’s White Revolution dairy investment vision ‘Doodh Dariya’, which laid the foundation for corporate dairy farms in Pakistan and empowered over 500,000 women in the dairy sector.

She is encouraging and training entrepreneurship at school level in orphanages in Pakistan, especially among girls so that they can sustain themselves.

The nominee from Pakistan has been representing the country as a member of the India Pakistan, Afghanistan Pakistan and Malaysia Pakistan business forums including various trade ministerials in Doha, Hong Kong, Mexico and the White House in the US.

His work was also acknowledged for the recently launched circularity fund ‘Green Footprints’ to support startups in circular business models, circular research and development as well as innovation and sustainable supply chains, particularly in the food sector going.
