Watch: Donald Trump draws applause from energetic crowd at UFC

Former US President Donald Trump attended UFC 290 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night and met with fans and supporters as his 2024 presidential campaign gets into full swing, the crowd cheered and looked excited .

UFC President Dana White joined the 45th President of the United States in the hall and escorted him to his seat.

The former president is said to be a good friend of White, who has supported Trump in his past political campaigns, speaking in favor of him at the 2020 Republican National Convention.

The 77-year-old former president has featured in several events in the UFC, the most notable being Nate Diaz’s fight with Jorge Masvidal in 2019.

MMA fans were quick to comment on Trump’s appearance for the Sin City card, with one saying: “Dana White came in with Donald Trump and this place just got bigger.”

Another said: “Best President!!!”

While another said: “Awesome!”

One commented: “Dana White the next Vice President.”

The Republican presidential candidate continued to attend events even when he was President of the United States. He sat with Mike Tyson and Kid Rock at a UFC event.

Recalling his RNC speech to Trump, White told Tucker Carlson: “This guy has been so good to me it’s unfathomable.

“He’s been a great friend from the day I met him. When we bought this company there was such a bad stigma attached to it and the sport that we couldn’t even go to the venues, They didn’t want us.”

He added: “Donald Trump saw that this thing could potentially be big, plus he’s a sportsman who loves sports, and he offered to have us come to the event at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City.

“He made a great deal with us and we went over there and did two shows with him where he came for the first fight and stayed till the last.

“Imagine that time; the Trump brand is up, the UFC brand is down, but he took us in and he was great.”

White also credited the former president for “every good thing that ever happened” to him.

“Everything that happened to me in my career after that day, the first person to reach out and congratulate me was Donald Trump; whether it was a letter or once we were on the cover of new York Times,

“He said, ‘I always knew you were going to do this, Dana, congratulations.’ And he sent me the paper. He once sent me a pen congratulating me.”

“He’s always sending something to congratulate; a person who is genuinely happy with your success.”
