Police seize cash, stolen mobile phones from gang targeting women in metro bus service

Police on Monday arrested a three-member gang of women who robbed passengers in the Metro bus service in Rawalpindi-Islamabad.

Rawalpindi Police spokesperson revealed that the gang was involved in theft in metro bus service.

The police also recovered cash amounting to Rs 450,000 and two stolen mobile phones from their possession, the spokesperson said.

The suspects used to target women in metro buses and were wanted by the police for several other road crimes.

Furthermore, the arrested members were identified as Maryam, Mukhtaran and Sanam.

The gang members have confessed that they have committed dozens of robberies.

SP Rawal Faisal Saleem lauded the police team for arresting the wanted women gangs operating in the twin cities in buses.

The suspects will be brought to justice with solid evidence and punished, he said.

He concluded that those who deprive citizens of valuable property cannot escape the clutches of the law.
